Whipple & Morales, who are on the Florida State Touring Artist Roster performed their original works for two pianos at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on March 6^th, 2002. You can view the duo’s performance by visiting the following link on the Kennedy Center web site:

The residency: Kirk Whipple & Marilyn Morales, Duo Concert Pianists, will perform selections at one and two pianos from their recent recordings as well as famous works from the classical period to modern day. Whipple & Morales will talk about their music with the student audience. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the artists. Depending upon the make-up of the student audience, these events will be conducted in English, Spanish or both languages. Considering the number of students and length of residency, a variety of other activities may be planned. At the discretion of your school’s coordinator and the duo, more private activities may also be planned with students interested in pursuing music as an avocation or career. Please note: Don’t worry if your school does not have pianos. At your request The Unconservatory will provide two digital pianos and a complete, self-contained sound system for the length of the residency!

Scheduling: Residency days will occur during your normal school hours. Please allow forty-five minutes at the beginning and end of the day for set-up and one hour for lunch.

Making it happen: Normally, the one-day residency fee for Whipple & Morales is between $1,000 and $2,000. With the support of this special program, your school may book the duo to appear for only $300 per day! (Please note: This special price applies only to Miami-Dade County Schools. Please call for a quote if your school is not located in Miami-Dade County.)
